Australian SEO Rankings Dropped on Google

Ok, I haven’t blogged for awhile due to a busy lifestyle which is keeping me very far away from my website, as well as Twitter for thoes who follow me. Anyways, I was using www.seo-browser.com to check out how my website looks on a text browser, and to my surprise I fould hundreds of spamy links on the footer of my homepage. Atfirst I thought www.seo-browser.com was just broken as I would never add random links to spam websites. But it turns outI got hacked!

Yes, its true, I fell victim to a ruthless attack by a bastard of  a hacker adding links to my website which gives users access to pirate movie downloads. Worst part is that I have been constantly monitoring my rankings for “Australian SEO” and “SEO Blog” and various other keywords which my website had constant rankings on and watched it slowly dropped off the face of the earth. I was confused as to why as I had almost all first page rankings for my target keyword list until one week everything started going down the hole (a few months back).

Turns out the large amount of spammy links inserted by a hacker completely ruined my website’s rankings overall. As a word of warning, I would suggest EVERYONE who has an old version of WordPress to upgrade. I will be doing the same *fingers crossed* my website doesn’t epic fail and break completely.

Time to work on fixing this website’s relationship with Google to get my website ranking again =(
