Mozilla Firefox 3 earns a place in the Guinness World Record

That’s right, thanks to the millions of people (8,002,530 to be exact) who download Firefox 3 during their launch on the 17th of June 2008, Firefox 3 has earnt their place in the Guinness World Record for achieving the record for the “largest number of software downloads in 24 hours.”

This is a giant step for the Open Source community and thanks to your support, the guys at Mozilla can finally recieve the recognition they deserve for building such a great browser. If you haven’t already done so, go and get Firefox3, I guarantee that once you use it, you won’t go back.

For thoes who actually did download Firefox 3 on their launch date, head over to the Download Day certificate and print out your certificate for participating in this history making event.
