I have recently joined MyBlogLog as you can see from the neat little widget on my side bar to the right. Upon joining, I have discovered many bloggers which are making money via Adsense, CPM ads and the most popular method was via PayPerPost. Though I have never experienced this myself, as I generate most of my blogging income via CPM, Adsense and Intext ads, it seems that your blog will need to have a high alexa ranking in order to increase your PayPerPost earnings. It wasn’t that long ago when Firefox was officially launched as a newly adopted Mozilla web browser, however comparing the current version of Firefox to how it was back then makes you realise how far it has gone. It turns out that my blog is worth a grand total of $3,951.78 US dollars (or is it Australian?) according to the number of technorati calculated incoming links and mentions of my blog. My previous weblog host LiveHouse.com.au is worth a nice sum of $57,018.54 (no where near what I got when I sold it) and my favourite SEO blog Seomoz.org is worth a crazy $2,397,036.84.

Now, all I need to do is figure out how I can convert those numbers into real hard cold cash and buy myself a new car.

On my previous post, I discovered that after using Google Adsense’s Competitive ad filter my Ad impressions as well as CTR dropped dramatically. To be more specific, my revenue decreased by 90% after filtering undesirable ads from being displayed via the Adsense panels on my website. I was bored and decided to surf youtube for something interesting, thats when I found hundreds of Domino effect related clips. It turns out that bored people like me likes to play with dominos, especially building them in a way so that they can cause a chain reaction to be filmed for other Youtuber’s enjoyment. One recently list have caught my attention, and that is the infamous Top 100 Australian Bloggers list made by Meg. Seems like Google has finally started taking notice of Australia by starting their official blog based on Google news, product and industry announcements within Australia. I’d probably add Google’s aussie blog to my blogroll just to show some Google love.

Countless webmasters stress over the issue of the need to be XHTML compliant, for both search engine optimisation as well as to decrease cross browser issues. In a way being XHTML compliant is like providing a guarantee to your users that the site they are visiting is top notch. I’ve been thinking recently of the possibility for a united blogger’s network of some sort. Basically a close knit network of bloggers whom specialises in the same field (or niche) and would comment on products and services within their niche. Is it me or has Google launched a new tool which allows you to search for things within the results of something you have already searched for. I hardly ever scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page but when I ran a “site:” function on my blog site to check how many pages were indexed, I noticed the “Search within results” option. Right next to that there was the good old language tool for the compulsory searches of japanese animation and gaming information I run on a daily bases. Read more »

There has been a common misunderstanding that linking some how affects your ranking negatively, as though you bleed page rank or something. This is of course wrong and many websites have been penalised when not enough out bound links have been established. However, it doesn’t seem to affect bloggers as much as linking is one of the high lights for a post. Read more »

So here is the situation, you have a spiffy website with heaps of great content, maybe a few personal blog posts regarding people or companies you do not like. One day, you get a phone call for some lawyer threatening to take your website down and you with it if you don’t remove one or two of your blog posts. Like most bloggers, you get scared and remove the posts, but unfortunately the post still lingers as a cached copy on Google’s index. Well, its time for you to use Google’s URL Removal tool. Well well, a Google Page rank update and almost all my websites are up to a PR3 or more. Pixel Square Production website is now officially a PR4 and my previously owned website LiveHouse.com.au is now PR5 (I haven’t really done anything to it for 6 months). Have a look at your websites, you’d be surprised at the change, that is of course assuming you have already done a lot of SEO work to it already.

Overall a good day for me..so far.
